Have you ever heard of a "Side Hug?"

A side hug is a display of affection in which a person hugs another by putting one arm around their shoulders rather than both arms around them. I first heard about a Side Hug from my grandchildren who attend a Christian school in AZ with lots of rules. And one of them happen to be a Side Hug, especially among the junior and high school students. The motivation behind the Side Hug is that the frontal hugs allow two parties crotches to touch, apparently emulating sexual activity.
Many volunteer organizations like evangelical churches mandate staff members and volunteers not to fully hug children in their care or when dealing with people of the opposite sex. This allows for intentions to be evident.
I also heard side hugs were evidenced in the show, the Duggars. They according to their religion have certain rules of courting. They're certain guidelines about dating, courtships and engagement. You cannot kiss, front hug, or hold hands during dating.
I learned something new from my kids, and just wanted you to hear or maybe remind you of this little tidbit of information. Never too old to learn. Thanks folks.
